Le Petit Grain is born out of an alliance between Brittany and Great Britain.
The owner Julie, whose family is from Erquy, married an Englishman, and moved to England where she enjoyed almost daily visits to coffee shops, to read, work, or meet up with friends. So when the decision was made to move to Erquy permanently, she felt the need to create this kind of space here too.
Le Petit Grain is not only meant to serve delicious coffees and cakes, it is also intended to be a friendly place for family and friends to gather, somewhere to cosy up with a good book on rainy days, or a quiet spot to work from. The Wifi, smiles, charging points and good music are all free here, to create a space we hope you will feel comfortable in.
Our coffee, (after our customers!), is at the heart of what we do. We use 100% arabica coffees that we purchase direct from, Lobodis.com, specialised roasters near Bain de Bretagne. We make our espresso-based coffees from beans to cup using our gorgeous Victoria Arduino Italian coffee maker, the pride and joy of Le Petit Grain. Our organic loose teas come from the Finistère.
We are committed to running our business in a way that respects and makes the best of its stunning surroundings. We use an entirely compostable range of take away cups. Our decaf coffee is made without using chemicals, and the milk we use is local and fresh. We strive to buy local and seasonal as much as possible.
